In this course we will cover physical sensors and chemical sensors related to medicine, measuring technology that uses them, and a wide range of biomeasurement technology related to biomolecules and biological environments. First the instructor will teach the basics of molecular biology for students not in the biology field. Then the instructor will go over microbial genome analysis, optical oxygen sensing, smart sensors, biological electron transfer reactions, biosensors that use magnetic bodies, robotic engineering, cancer imaging, protein engineering for biosensing, surface plasmons, and single-molecule measurements.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand the fundamentals of molecular biology
2. Acquire advanced knowledge for bases and applications of various biosensing technologies
Molecular biology, Oxygen sensing, Smart sensor, Biological electron transfer reaction, Magnetic biophysics, Robotics, Cancer, Protein Engineering, Surface plasmon, Single molecule detection, Biomolecular reaction
✔ Specialist skills | Intercultural skills | Communication skills | Critical thinking skills | ✔ Practical and/or problem-solving skills |
