Course description and aims

This course facilitates students' understanding of a trend of research in Industrial Engineering and Economics by literature reading and discussion.

Students will understand the current topics in Industrial Engineering and Economics, obtain knowledge on the topics, and utilize the knowledge for their own research.

Student learning outcomes

Through presentation sessions on significant (desirably recent) articles in English academic journals, students will be able to:
(1) share the latest issues in industrial engineering and economics.
(2) share recent knowledge in cutting-edge researches in research fields in industrial engineering and economics.
(3) discover novel viewpoints through discussions and bring them back to own research problems.
(4) improve presentation skills based on own experiences, feedback from others, as well as observation of others.
