The basic knowledge and the approaches for developing high-quality visual media are introduced by lecturers who have been leading research and development in the companies or enterprises in the visual media industry. The R&D strategy considering international standard is also addressed. This course focuses on visual media, especially digital cameras and displays, and the approaches to evaluate and/or enhance the image quality are discussed.
The aim of this course is to enhance practical and problem-solving skills as well as specialist skills by learning how the knowledge of fundamental mathematical principles, signal processing, and human-centric information systems are applied to the development of practical media systems.
Students will acquire the ability to apply the knowledge of fundamental mathematical principles, signal processing, and human-centric information systems to the development of practical media systems. Students will be able to design the method for media quality evaluation. By learning the methods and examples for evaluating and/or enhancing the media quality, students will gain the aspects for solving practical problems in the development of media information systems.
