Course description and aims

The data communication system is an online system that makes full use of network technology, and has become the infrastructure that supports the core of Japan's economic activities in all sectors such as finance, distribution, and manufacturing. In addition, this area is made up with the integration of a wide range of technology and knowledge. This course provides understanding of the basic theory of various technologies that form the core of the online system, and explains the practical design methods of the data communication system, while citing typical design cases.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to
1) Understand the basic theory of various technologies that form the core of the online system.
2) Obtain the actual design method of data communication systems through typical design cases.
3) Know the overall picture of data communication systems.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
