Students are required to conduct computer simulations of real data transmission, which aims to make the students deeply understand error detection codes and protocols of data transmission.
The purposes of the experiment are to quantitatively evaluate how severely factors deteriorate transmission performance of the data transmission, and to learn some techniques for computer simulations.
digital modulation/demodulation, noise, fading, error detection codes, CRC, protocols of data transmission

After lecturers explain principles and methods for computer simulations, students are required to make simulation programs, to run them, and to write reports on the results.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend a certain length of time outside of class on preparation and review (including for assignments), as specified by the Tokyo Institute of Technology Rules on Undergraduate Learning (東京工業大学学修規程) and the Tokyo Institute of Technology Rules on Graduate Learning (東京工業大学大学院学修規程), for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
Guide for the experiments to be distributed.
