Course description and aims

The explanation will be done about the materials for a silver halide photography, a digital camera, an ink-jet print, an optical disk, an electrographic system, a liquid crystal display, an organic electroluminescence devices and semiconductor process materials. And the student will understand the material function about memory of the information, conversion, and display, and an advanced organic material having a high function in various information technology. This course will include the connection between the material structure and the functions, and the thinking way of the design.
The materials for information play important roles in information society. Students will understand the information system material and the development history, catch up the chemical material knowledge, and understand fundamental using the example of imaging materials. Students should attend a lecture, Imaging materials.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) understand and explain the advanced materials of information system and the function.
2) understand and explain the thinking way of the material design.
3) understand and explain the relationship between the materials and the function.
