Course description and aims

This course provides a project at universities or research institutes abroad.
This course aims to cultivate students' expertise, perspectives and communication skills by participating in research activities in different environments from Tokyo Tech.

Students will choose Internship A, B, C, and D, according to the total effective working hours.
A: ( 1 credit): Longer than 80 hours and less than 160 hours
B: ( 2 credits): Longer than 160 hours and less than 320 hours
C: ( 4 credits): Longer than 320 hours and less than 480 hours
D: ( 6 credits): Longer than 480 hours

Student learning outcomes

Students will acquire the following, as a leader in professional fields.
1) Professional expertise for identifying the scientific and technological essence of electrical and electronic engineering.
2) Ability to acquire expertise in areas outside electrical and electronic engineering and use it to practical problem solving.
3) Ability to solve the emerged issues and to propose creative ideas by use of the professional knowledge.
4) Ability to conduct research with awareness of global trends in the research and development.
5) Ability of communication to conduct smooth research and development with sufficient mutual understanding.
6) Ability to explain concepts logically, develop arguments, and put them in writing.

Class flow

If you are going to experience the internship or study abroad, please ask your supervisor and submit the application form in advance by 2 months before. Although it may be necessary to make a contract with the dispatch organization, the student will basically proceed with discussions with the dispatch organization. Once the internship/studying abroad is over, please submit the report form. Based on its contents and months, the credits can be provided. Please ask your supervisor for the forms and instructions of submission.

Students must submit the study abroad report to the Electrical and Electronic Engineering course. The course will evaluate it with the assessment criteria.
