Terahertz (THz) technology is nowadays in strong demand in a wide variety of fields, ranging from basic science to practical areas such as high-speed wireless communication, medicine, and security. However, because terahertz frequency region is located between the electronic and photonic bands, even basic components like detectors and sources have not been fully developed, compared to the other frequency regions.
This course provides a comprehensive overview of terahertz devices and systems, giving students tips for technical breakthroughs in this area.
Terahertz (THz) technology can be developed by either electronics or photonics. This course enables students to acquire a wide range of knowledge regarding devices and systems based on electrons, electromagnetic waves, and lights.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
