Organic materials are unique due to their molecular structures and organizations compared with inorganic materials. Physics of the soft materials will be presented particularly from the viewpoints of physics in organic molecules and biomaterials.
The aim of this lecture is to understand physics of organic molecules in nanoscale and how these are utilized in bio-nanotechnology. Especially, students will gain the knowledge of nanomaterials and biomolecules, and its applications in bio-sensing.

Each student chooses and reads a recent technical paper related to "biosensing". Students discuss the mechanism of sensing and materials used in a sensor described in the paper. The lecture will proceed to answer questions students have.
