The electric circuits I II are the important courses in electrical and electronic engineering, as well as electricity and magnetism. Electric circuits I focuses the fundamentals of circuit analysis based on Kirchhoff's laws and discusses electrical responses of electric circuit, e.g. attenuation, oscillation, and resonance. The course shows the systematic description of electrical circuits by using Laplace’s transform can draw the transient response and frequency characteristic easily. Also, the usefulness of complex expression and vector expression in AC circuits and idea of AC power are discussed.
This course aims to provide basic knowledge of electric circuits; the fundamental natures of electrical elements, the fundamentals of circuit analysis based on Kirchhoff's laws and Laplace transform, the fundamental expression method, using complex expression, vector expression, and to solve the basic equations for the electric circuits.
At the end of this course, students will be able to acquire the following ability.
1) Can make basic circuit’s equations.
2) Can explain the nature of electrical elements.
3) Can use of Laplace’s transform and solve the circuit’s equations using it.
4) Can obtain the transient response of electrical circuits.
5) Can express and solve the AC circuits by using the complex expression and the vector expression.

Students must read the appointed part of the lecture note uploaded in OCW-I, before coming to the class. Students must make the report to the tasks shown in previous class and submit it at the class. Simulators will be used in the class or for the home works. MATLAB and LT spice should be installed in student’s PCs.
