Course description and aims

This course is regarded as one of the coursed in TAIST-Tokyo Tech program, and learn "Micro Structure of Engineering Materials". Moreover, students should work as an internship for over 20 hours in a certain laboratory at NSTDA, Thailand.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Understand and explain Micro Structure of Engineering Materials.
2) Lean and understand how to use experimental set up in NSTDA.

Class flow

Students will learn full contents on Micro Structure of Engineering Materials, and work as an internship for over 20 hours in the laboratory at NSTDA, Thailand.

Class 1 Students will learn Micro Structure of Engineering Materials. The classes are given at NSTDA, Thailand.The contents are devided into seven parts: Potential energy and bonding of atoms Crystal structure Vacancy and impurity atoms Dislocation and plastic deformation Strengthening mechanisms Vapor phase fabrication Analyzing technique Understand and explain Micro Structure of Engineering Materials. Especially, students will be able to know the defects and deformation of engineering materials.
Class 2 Work as an internship for over 20 hours in the laboratory at NSTDA, Thailand. Lean and understand how to use measurement instruments and so on in NSTDA, Thailand.
