Course description and aims

The target of the lecture is to learn the important physics of nuclear non-proliferation and security practically by experiments and exercises. Students learn the fundamental of nuclear materials and radioactive materials and their material barrier, design of physical protection systems, the impact analysis of structure materials, safeguards and non-destructive assay, by lectures, numerical analysis, measuring the gamma spectrum from U samples with high to low enrichment in Tokyo Tech, and by visiting the training field and real facility outside. Student also learn the decision making process of verification of non-diversion of nuclear material guided by the experts in safeguards.

Student learning outcomes

The goal of the lecture is for students to gain the knowledge of important physics and technology of nuclear non-proliferation and security practically by experiments and exercises in University and the outside facilities.
