Course description and aims

The class provides the latest and wide knowledge in the fundamentals of nuclear chemistry, radiation chemistry, nuclear physics, radiation physics and its interactions in materials, radiation biology, and nuclear energy systems. This is a network class by Tokyo Tech, Fukui Univ., Ibaraki Univ., Okayama Univ., Kanazawa Univ., Osaka Univ., Nagoya Univ. and JAEA provided using an interactive telecommunication system.

Student learning outcomes

Explain the fundamentals of nuclear engineering in the various fields.

Keywords

nuclear chemistry, radiation chemistry, radioactivity, atomic nucleus, nuclear reaction, nuclear power

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

The class is provided by the lectures who are the expert in the fields. Since this lecture will be held jointly with other universities, the number of lectures will be 15 (90 minutes). Also, in order to have a simultaneous lecture of all participating universities, the lecture time is from 16:30-18:00.
