Course description and aims

Tokyo Tech's Ookayama campus has sloping land, luscious greenery, and flowing water, making it a precious location in the city center with valuable nature remaining.
Nature changes 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are leisurely, pleasant times, and also unpleasant times. To create an environment that accepts these changes, allowing you to feel the rhythm of nature, students must not only think about saving energy, pleasantness, and resilience, but also how humans exist in conjunction with nature. This course is an opportunity to take a fresh look at the city of Tokyo, from this campus.

Student learning outcomes

Students will use measurement equipment to numerically measure the temperature environment, light environment, sound environment, etc. in different places, recording the position and time as well. Together with this quantitative analysis, students will also learn to quantify and explain their own sense of the environment potential of the campus.

Keywords

Campus, natural environment, digitizing, comfort

Competencies that will be developed
