This course provides an overview of electronics. Fundamentals and relationship between them in electromagnetism, electrical circuits, semiconductor engineering, electronic circuits, computer, integrated circuits, and wireless communication system are overviewed.
The course aims to overview basic and electronic engineering and current electric devices and systems. In particular, usefulness of complex representation in electronic circuits, basic phenomena and nature of solid-state and semiconductor, principle of computer, technology of integrated circuits, and basic principle of wireless communication system are shown.
At the end of this course, students will be able to acquire the following ability.
1) Explain fundamentals and relationship between electrical and electronic engineering.
2) Derive the transient response and frequency characteristics in electric and electronic circuits.
3) Have basic knowledge of operating principle and characteristics in solid-state and semiconductor devices.
4) Have basic knowledge of construction of computer and integrated circuits to realize it.

Students must read the appointed part of the lecture note uploaded in OCW-i, before coming to the class. Students must make the report to the tasks shown in previous class and submit it until the next class.

Class 6 | Computers and integrated circuits | Can explain the operating principle of the computer / the progress of the integrated circuit. |
Class 7 | Wireless communication technology | Can explain high frequency circuit technology of wireless communication such as oscillator or mixer. |
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Students' course scores are conducted based on the due reports (40%) and final examination (60%).
No prerequisite, however, review of physics and mathematics is highly recommended.
