Students experience researches in multiple laboratories. This provides an opportunity for taking specific interests in advanced higher education in the graduate program. The basics of research ethics is also taught.

Student learning outcomes

1) Proactical understanding of researches in laboratories.
2) Understanding of research ethics.
3) Connenting to "Independent Research Project (MEC)".

Keywords

Research, Laboratory, Engineer ethics, Research ethics

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

Students are first divided into two groups. Each group will take this course in the first or the third quarter. On the first week, orientation of this course is provided. In addition, understanding of engineer/research ethics is also required. From the second week, students are further divided into sub-groups of three to five members. Each sub-group will visit three laboratories during six weeks (two weeks each) and experience a research topic in each laboratory. Reporting is required for activity in each laboratory (three in total).
