Course description and aims

In this lecture, theories and technologies on aircrafts and flying objects such as theory of nozzle flow, jet engine system, compressor, turbine, aerodynamics of aircraft, dynamics and control of aircraft, design and structure of aircrafts will be delivered. Through this lecture, students can understand basics of aircrafts and flying objects and the technical issues to be solved.

Student learning outcomes

Students will be requested to acquire the followings,
1) Theory of compressible flow in a nozzle
2) system and performance of jet engines
3) aerodynamics around an aircraft, dynamics and control of an aircraft or a flying object
4) design and structure of aircrafts
5) technical issues related to the development of aircrafts

In each class, the topics will be explained using distributed materials. At the end of each class, students are given exercise problems related to the lecture given that day to solve. To prepare for class, students should read the course schedule section and check what topics will be covered. Required learning should be completed outside of the classroom for preparation and review purposes.

Students' knowledge of jet engine, aerodaynamics, flight dynamics, structure of aicrafts, design etc. and their ability to apply them to problems will be assessed. Final exams 100%.
