In the creation process of science and technology, we cannot respond to social needs with a single discipline such as electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, and we need collaboration of multi discipline. In addition, we should conduct faithful research and development activities based on research and engineering ethics. Also, in order to protect and utilize research results, we need strategic intellectual property management such as patents.
In this lecture, we introduce the ongoing cutting-edge projects in School of Engineering, which are interdisciplinary collaborations of the departments in School of Engineering, i.e., Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Systems and Control Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, and Industrial Engineering and Economics. We also give lectures on intellectual property and research/engineering ethics.
At the end of this course, students will be able to understand:
1) the basics of the inter-disciplinary collaboration of engineering fields,
2) the basics of intellectual property,
3) the basics of research and engineering ethics.
