In this course, students conduct a research project on civil and environmental engineering under the guidance of their supervisor, including literature research, research proposal, problem-solving, discussion and presentation. The contents of projects will vary with each laboratory.
This course is intended to provide students majoring in civil and environmental engineering with research experience to prepare in advance research for graduation thesis. Through discussions with their academic supervisor, students carry out a research project independently by integrating comprehensive knowledge and skills that have been acquired through enrolling in various courses. It is expected that this course provides students with opportunities to experience the fun and challenges of cutting-edge research at Tokyo Tech and to understand research process.
By the end of this course, students will acquire fundamental abilitis to:
1. Understand research process, including literature research, research proposal, problem-solving, discussion and presentation
2. Study independently.
3. Communicate for logical discussion, presentation and writing.
4. Prepare for Bachelor's thesis.
