In order to learn about the basics of communications and network which are very important in our life, this class teaches internet protocol, theory of queueing theory (Markov model), communication method, Shannon’s source coding theory (Huffman code), Shannon’s channel coding theory (error correcting code), and cipher.
After studying this subject, students should understand and be able to explain internet protocol, network theory, communication method, source and channel coding theories, and the basic theory of cipher.
