Course description and aims

To cap off the bachelor's degree program, by working on an actual research topic students will acquire through practice the skills to identify problems, specify the essence of a problem, select methods needed to solve a problem, and solve the problem. Under the guidance of an academic supervisor, students will find a research topic on their own, work on it independently, organize the findings as a thesis, and give an oral presentation.

Student learning outcomes

Students will acquire the following skills by participating in this Graduation Thesis course.
(1) The skills to find problems on one's own.
(2) The skills to see through to the essence of problems.
(3) The skills to link expertise learned in the bachelor's degree program to problem solving.
(4) The skills to learn about specialized areas outside of one's major courses, and link them to problem solving.
(5) The skills to logically explain ideas to develop an argument and summarize it in writing.
(6) The skills to communicate effectively with others about one's own research, and hold discussions.
