Course description and aims

[Summary of Course] This course will provide lectures and exercises in English about topics concerning unit operation, element technology development, as well as process design, as they relate to chemical engineering. [Aim of Course] This course aims to cultivate students' ability to understand and express themselves in English about topics concerning unit operation, element technology development, as well as process design, as they relate to chemical engineering.

[Course objective] By taking this course, students will (1) enhance their skills to understand the topics concerning unit operation, element technology development, as well as process design in English, as they are related to chemical engineering. This course will be conducted in English for topics on chemical engineering, and then students will have opportunities for hearing, writing, discussing and presenting in English.

Class 2 How to solve engineering problem? To understand and explain how to solve problems in chemical process.
Class 3 Fundamentals of phase diagrams To understand phase diagram presenting state of gas, liquid and solid and explain the phase state at focused operation condition.
Class 4 Fundamentals of supercritical fluid: part 1 To improve understanding of characteristics and special properties of supercritical fluids.
Class 5 Fundamentals of supercritical fluid: part 2 To explain characteristics and specific property of supercritical fluid
Class 6 High pressure phase behavior: part 1 To enhance understanding of phase equilibrium and phase behavior at high pressure
Class 7 High pressure phase behavior: part 2 To enhance understanding of phase equilibrium and phase behavior at high pressure
Class 8 Calculation and theory. How to save time and money! To optimize operation condition on design of chemical process using theoretical model
