In this recture, students are assigned exercise problems related to Organic Chemistry I (Alkanes) so that students can understand about organic chemistry as a basic subject of an applied chemistry.
Organic hemistry is important in understanding biochemistry, and is essential to understand the reaction mechanism of various organic compounds. Students learn the organic structure, acid-base, nucleophilic substitution reactions and elimination reactions, which is basic knowledge in organic chemistry. This will allow them to understand organic reactions and they will be able to discuss the mechanism of the organic reactions.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Explain the concept of structure, acid-base, and stereochemistry, that is a basic knowledge in organic chemistry.
2) Explain the characteristic, synthetic method, and reactions of alkene and alkyl halides.
3) Ability to explain the reaction mechanism and characteristic of nucleophilic substitution reactions and elimination reactions.

This lecture will provide exercise problems related to alkane, alkene, stereochemistry, and alkyl halides, that is a basic knowledge in organic chemistry. Towards the end of class, solutions to exercise problems are reviewed. In the last day, practice problems and interpretation of them will be carried out to confirm the level of understanding.
