Course description and aims

In order to improve literacy in materials and chemical engineering, the students are divided into a small group, and subject to research topics that each laboratory in School of Materials and Chemical Engineering is working on. The students will explain the outline of research on materials and chemical engineering and basis of methodology and learn the characteristics and interest of each research field. Also learn about important international situation and ethics for scientists / engineers for the future.

Student learning outcomes

Understand the cutting-edge topics of materials and chemical engineering, and establish the foundation as a technologist.

Keywords

Materials science/engineering (Metals, Inorganic materials, Organic materials), Chemical engineering, Applied chemistry, Polymer science, Enrichment of international consciousness, Ethics for scientists / engineers

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

To foster enrichment of international consciousness and ethics for scientist / engineers we do it in lecture format. In order to touch the methodology of the research of materials and chemical engineering, the students are divided into a small group, visit the laboratory and tackle the given assignments.
