To understand processes in Earth and planetary sciences, student will observe geology in the field and visit foreign research institutes. Before the field trip, students will study geological background of the field and writing a guide book of the field excursion. The field trip will be performed in foreign country (e.g., North America, Hawaii, etc). The students will discuss with the researchers in the foreign University/Institutes.
It is important to observe geological phenomena in the field not only in Japan for understanding global scale geology. For this purpose, students will learn geology in their own eyes directly in the field. Students will acquire the method to reveal geological phenomena based on the observation in the field. Also, students will understand how earth scientists work through the discussions with foreign researchers and by communication with foreign students.
