Course description and aims

This class offers the basic knowledge of thermodynamics, chemical reaction engineering and energy system.
Basic equations for reactor design and its application
Principles of next generation solar cells and design of distributed energy system
Solid phase diagram and its application

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to understand:
1) Reactor types and their design equations
2) Perspective of next generation solar cells and distributed energy system
3) Solid phase diagram, invariant reaction and compound formation based on the phase diagram

Class flow

Required learning should be completed outside of the classroom for preparation and review purpose.
Towards the end of class, students are given exercise problems related to what is taught on that day to solve.
