This course mainly focuses on thinking and communication skills that are necessary for creation of innovation. Discussion among students of the energy course with different backgrounds helps to promote diverse perspectives necessary for creation of innovation in research. Through this course, students are expected to develop a clear understanding of their research topics and its relation with global society. Specifically, a team of four to five students conducts group work and solves an assigned task. Students develop skills to logically explain his/her idea, and they understand importance teamwork skills through discussion with students who have different backgrounds. This course helps students to develop capacity to work in a group.
Through the course work, students are expected to acquire the following abilities to:
1) Understand objectives and trends of research in the energy field.
2) Logically construct and present their own understanding of topics and assigned task.
3) Use expertise as basic knowledge for understanding contents of other fields related to energy, and also be able to examine and make suggestions according to their understanding of research.

Students conduct group work on an assigned task. At the end of the course work, the group make a presentation concerning on the solution of their task.
