Course description and aims

The Standard Model (SM) has been almost completed by the discovery of the Higgs boson at 125 GeV. However, the true origin of the Higgs sector is still in question as it suffers from the problem of quadratic divergence destabilizing the electroweak scale, which is called the naturalness problem. For this reason, it is believed that there must be New Physics
appearing at around the TeV scale which is imminently looked for at the LHC. Among various naturalness ideas, we will specifically discuss Supersymmetry and Composite Higgs Models, and summarize the current status of searching for their signatures. Experimental discoveries of neutrino masses and dark matter of the Universe also urges us to find New Physics
which can explain the origin of them. We will also briefly discuss basic properties of neutrino mass and dark matter models in parallel or in connection to the naturalness.
