Course description and aims

Technology cannot be spread widely in the market without incorporation into society. In order to build new social system to diffuse new technology, government policy and civic power for implementation are both necessary. Student will be sent for internship in policy organization, council, local government or NPO out of Japan which is pushing forward the above-mentioned social system for around 3 weeks. Student will have an opportunity to consider and investigate how policy is related to and affects technology and social problems.

Student learning outcomes

Development of international perspective and international communication skill. Grasp of relation between technology and society.

Make project plan according to advice of supervisor and if necessary ACEEES faculty.

Class 1 Start to plan the project around 10 months before the departure. Apply your plan, which your supervisor and the visit organization consented, with the form "Application for Global Internship Courses" around 4 months before the departure. After approval of the academy director, begin concrete procedures including request of invitation letter, visa application and necessary procedures in the course, the faculty meeting and so on.
