United Nations passed a resolution about Sustainable Development Goals; SDGs, as an object to be accomplished by 2030, in Sep/2015. 17 goals and 169 targets were set by considering sustainable progress for the various kind of issues which could not be achieved enough by human being or had been realized recently. On the other hand, Japanese government presented future society as “Society 5.0”, the society adopting evolutional technologies such as AI, IoT robotics and big data as the target to be aimed by following Society 1.0 as hunting society, Society 2.0 as agriculture society, Society 3.0 as Industrial society, and Society 4.0 as information society.
ToTAL understands that recognizing and understanding issues which are occurred in current society widely including SDGs and in the field of academic, business, politics, technology and art would be the fundamental for the course of group of “Leadership, followership and consensus building” which aim for fostering capabilities to proactively solve such issues with no correct answers. During the course of “Recognition of Social Issues Workshop II”, we are aiming to expand students stock of solving methodologies including an approach from macro viewpoints, future society (10-15 years later) designing and network with diversified students.
Understanding social issues as a part of history, social trend and technology trend and learning and executing methodologies of macro approach, back casting and abduction (forced ideation) for consensus building among diversified society as capabilities for consensus building.

Students are aiming to build solution(s) for the social issues relating economic policies and future society designing through discussion by a group of 4-5 students; workshop style.

Class 1 | (1) 4 hour workshop for economic policy making simulation: a) Purposes: Making new policies about issues occurred in the past actually in order to encourage activities of Japanese industries. Since members will be various including students from Tokyo Tech, and other universities, the activities of such group discussion will be helpful for consensus building among diversified people and networking. MITI staff(s), who used to be responsible for the actual case, is going to facilitate the workshop. b) expecting numbers of students to be joined: around 40 including the students from other universities c) Theme of the workshop: to be presented d) Facilitator: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) (2) 3 day workshop of Future Foresight: a) Purpose: Designing 10-15 years later future society by abduction (forced ideation) methodology from signs of future, sensed by various present society information, and picture of possible social change about the theme.
