Course description and aims

This course is designed to improve students' skills to write research articles in English. The course will help students develop their basic writing skills, and will provide them with strategies to present an argument effectively in scientific papers, using appropriate vocabulary and expressions.
As a course for ToTAL, Global Writing will help you to become a better writer, who can write clearly and persuasively in a reader-friendly manner.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) write a well-organized essay, research paper or a paragraph.
2) write grammatical sentences and communicate clearly in written English.
3) use vocabulary and expressions widely used in scientific papers.

Class flow

After a lecture on the structure of essays and research papers, students will practice writing short essays and parts of research papers in English either in class or as homework. They will review written work by other students in class, and learn better ways of writing.
