The United Nations passed a resolution about Sustainable Development Goals; SDGs, as an object to be accomplished by 2030, in Sep/2015. 17 goals and 169 targets were set by considering sustainable progress for the various kind of issues which could not be achieved enough by human being or had been realized recently. On the other hand, Japanese government presented future society as “Society 5.0”, the society adopting evolutional technologies such as AI, IoT robotics and big data as the target to be aimed by following Society 1.0 as hunting society, Society 2.0 as agriculture society, Society 3.0 as Industrial society, and Society 4.0 as information society.
This course is designed to help students build awareness and knowledge about emerging issues of current society in broad fields: academic, business, politics, technology and art, and foster capabilities to proactively adress such issues. During the course of “Recognition of Social Issues Workshop I”, students will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development. To achieve this goal this course will introduce students to “Scenario Planning” as a method to think strategically about multiple scenarios in the future using multiple perspectives. Throuth this course students will cultivate leadership in the society with complexity and uncertainties.
・To enhance leadership skills by learning “Scenario Planning”, a method of building multiple future scenarios assuming uncertainties, and build a strategy to deal with each scenario
・To achieve fundamental knowledge of SDGs, awareness of social issues in the current world, and ability to find how these issues can be related to one’s own research objectives.
