Course description and aims

Further to the presentation to be made by the professionals who are creating leading edge of values (innovations) in various fields including enterprises, start ups, NPO/NGO, journalism, government and academic, the professionals and students are going to be encouraged to derive their necessary information and/or answers from the professionals. Students are being expected to find (1) multidimensional perspective and (2) excitement for creating value to the society from the communication with such professionals. Basically, Guest Speakers are being changed in every term. Guest speakers in this term are referred in “class Flow” below.

Student learning outcomes

Students are being expected to understand the difference about concepts of value between you and others, and the society exist by various kind of concepts of value, not only perspective and way of thinking around you. Only hearing the experiences made by the professionals should not be the purpose of this class, understanding the purpose of those professionals’ activities.

Class flow

Professionals are presenting the leading edge of information about their business, development, vision of their activities, and problems to be overcome to the students and the students, then try to drive answers/necessary information from the guest speakers. Students are being requested to engage in preparation work; to research outline of the organization the professionals are belonging and to clarify aims for having communication with them, in advance.
Guest speakers and outline of their presentation as follows;
1. Chitoku Yato, JETSON product Marketing Manager, NVIDIA Coporation (US)
(1) Theme: Expansion of AI applications by using platform of GPU parallel processing developed by NVIDIA
(2) Outline: NVIDIA Corporation was a world leading high performance graphic processing unit(GPU) manufacture , located in Santa Clara, California, US, and , nowadays, is acting as a leader in the field of GPU deep learning as a AI Computing Company. TSUBAME, a super computer in Tokyo Tech, is also using NVIDIA’s GPUs. Mr. Yato is responsible for product marketing of their Jetson, an acceralating prarallel processing by GPU. During Dojo, he will talk about real situation of Deep Learning technology development and how NVIDIA solve the practical issues.
Dr. Naoki Sugimoto, Ececutive Officer, Product Development Lab., AGC Corporation
(1) Theme: New Business Development and R&D in AGC
(2) Outline: I would like to discuss about AGC’s new business development activities from angles of market and technology. I am going to touch on M&A activities as the method got obtaining market and technologies and Joint Development activities by presenting actual examples. In addition, AGC’s concepts about marketing and R&D will be introduced by presenting actual examples.
