講義概要
国際的な舞台で活動し、世界各地の人々と協働するためには、英語を聞きとり、理解し、自分の考えを共感的に伝える能力が不可欠です。 本コースは、選りすぐりの英語文献に触れ（INPUT）、人間社会の基本的な価値観―自由、平等、生きる意味等を考察し、英語で自分の考えを表現する(OUTPUT) 場を提供します。グローバル化する社会における真の幸福とは何かを探求し、自分が果たすべき役割を見極めていきます。

This course is designed to help students explore the true meaning of basic human values such as freedom, equality, rights, privileges, and justice. Through the study and discussion of selected English readings and listening materials, we hope to determine what it takes to be happy-as individuals, and as a society-in an evermore globalized world.
Students are expected to be actively engaged and to be open to new perspectives by expressing themselves in English-both in writing and in oral communication. Participants will experience the joy of liberating their ideas and feelings through the use of “simple” English.

多様性を公平に受け入れる柔軟な思考力と、知識をさまざまな現場で役立て、明確な目的のもとに、具体的な実践に移す行動力を特訓します。

The ultimate goal of this course is to nurture an open and well-educated mind that can appreciate diversity of values and perceptions with equity, rather than being shaded by cultural biases. Students will learn to apply and integrate new knowledge into their original viewpoints and present them to others in English. The joy of sharing thoughts and ideas to make the world a better place will be experienced by being engaged in this course.
