This course will equip graduate students with academic writing skills to construct well-structured, clear research articles.
Objectives include learning the various sections of a journal article, while using appropriate vocabulary and expressions for each section. We will examine models presented in the textbook and scientific articles to help guide the writing process for the introduction, methodology, results, discussion/conclusion, and abstract. Proper citation for references and footnotes will be addressed, in keeping with different journal styles. In addition, students will participate in peer-critique, gaining experience on giving constructive feedback on their peers’ writing. By the end of the course, students will produce a clear, concise semester paper article of their research.
