英語による学会論文発表,討論等に必要な語学力とコミュニケーション能力を養成する。
This course is designed to give students the confidence to conduct academic presentations in English. It is a comprehensive module which will take participants through each step of the process of public speaking - from the planning stages and the creation of an effective introduction, through the main body of the presentation to the final question and answer session.
As well as covering the key points of presentations, we will also examine the distinct features of academic English, ways to overcome nervousness and techniques to deal with difficult questions.
Students will be encouraged to assist their classmates in both planning and feedback stages. We will try to create a classroom community in which we share our many strengths to overcome our individual weaknesses.
Oxford University Press’s English for Presentations.
Since this class is an advanced class, you are expected to already have a general, working knowledge of English. Equally essential, however, is a strong desire to express yourselves in English.
Final grades will be decided by two in-class presentations, the submission of a presentation planner, regular participation and attendance.
During this semester, we will create a community wherein every participant’s voice is valued. We all have different strengths and weaknesses(grammar, vocabulary, confidence, pronunciation), so in this class, we will be sharing our knowledge to improve the abilities of us all.
