Academic Presentation CIb provides students with instruction in presentation skills which will prepare them for the demands of presenting their academic research in English. The course will help students combine audio/visual technology with verbal and non-verbal communication for presentations which are geared towards an academic audience. The course will also instruct students on how to effectively respond to an academic audience.
By the end of this course students should be able to
・Understand the ways that subject matter, style and tone can be shaped to address particular audiences.
・Effectively use audio/visual technology in combination with verbal and body language.
・Confidently and articulately present and discuss their academic research.
・Demonstrate a complete understanding of the ways that language, technology and communication merge in academic presentations.
The course will run over a 14 week period during this time students will be expected to
・Participate in class discussions and activities.
・Prepare and present 2 presentations in English
