講義概要
英語による学術的文章を書くために必要な発想法，論旨の展開，効果的な表現手法を学ぶための演習を集中的に行う。
講義の目的
The aim of this course is to provide students at the graduate level with the basic skills required to produce well-structured and effectively written research papers. The formal requirements of writing papers and articles for English language journals will also be covered.
講義計画
Students will be guided through the process of preparing and writing a reserch paper. Such aspects as the structure of papers, elements of academic style, and documentation (footnotes and bibliographies) will be dealt with. There will be class discussion of example papers and typical problems that are encountered in the production of papers and journal articles.

You will be required to have a sufficient level of English writing skills in order to communicate scientific information to an English readership.
成績評価
Evaluation will be by a final individual paper (40%) and classroom participation, which will include the submission of written work (notes, essays & drafts) during the semester (60%).
