Outline of lecture

Biotechnology is a key technology in 21st century in many areas including environmental sciences. Environmental biotechnology is defined as the development, use and regulation of biological systems for remediation of contaminated environments (land, air, water), and for environment-friendly processes (green manufacturing technologies and sustainable development).

Purpose of lecture

The primary object of this lecture is to understand the biotechnology from the basics, especially from molecular level. Then later it will focus on its application in environmental research area.

Plan of lecture

The first part of this lecture introduces biotechnology in general, and then focuses on its application in environmental areas in the latter.
