This course introduces the domain of medical decision making, with a particular focus on perception, attitude, and communication of medical risk to physicians and patients. The study of medical risk will be approached from the perspectives of both classical economic rationality and cognitive psychology. This lecture will introduce these basic approaches and findings, as well as recent developments in this area of research.
