Outline of lecture
Provide an opportunity to study contemporary topics in hydrology and water resources at the global and regional/river-basin scales. This class also covers social issues on water.

Purpose of lecture
Water issues consist of a very important part of global environmental issues and issues related to infrastructure/civil-engineering. In addition, water is one of the most important topics of our society. Also, research outcomes on terrestrial hydrology and water resources are typical modern examples of the application of environmental informatics. This class intends to provide students opportunity to study this particular field of science.

- World water issues (荳也阜縺ｮ豌ｴ蝠城｡),
- Water, food, and energy (豌ｴ縺ｨ鬟滓侭縺ｨ繧ｨ繝阪Ν繧ｮ繝ｼ),
- Regional water issues (縺ｩ縺薙°縺ｮ蝨ｰ蝓溘ｮ豌ｴ蝠城｡),
- Climate change and water (豌怜吝､牙喧縺ｨ豌ｴ),
- Water issues characterstic to Japan (譌･譛ｬ迚ｹ譛峨ｮ豌ｴ蝠城｡).
Your presentations and discussions (mostly and hopefully in English) will form a major part of this class.

Evaluation
Small assignment, every time (about 80%). Presentation and discussion-leadership (about 20%). Details will be introduced at the first day of this class.
