We will introduce basic neuroscience including structure and function of mammalian brain, mechanisms of neural activity and synapse formation in brain. In addition, we will discuss about procedures to measure neural activity and brain-machine interface, BMI. Neuronal dysfunction in brain leads to a variety of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and schizophrenia, respectively. Molecular mechanisms of the human brain diseases and recent progress of therapeutic approaches to intervene such devastating diseases will be discussed.
