Outline of lecture

The Atmospheric Boundary Layer (ABL) can be defined as the part of the troposphere that is directly influenced by the presence of the earth's surface, and responds to surface forcing. The regional atmospheric environment and the human health are strongly influenced by the ABL. The basic concept, theories and numerical simulation techniques related to the ABL will be lectured.

Purpose of lecture

The purpose of this lecture is twofold. One is to understand the fundamental knowledge and theoretical concepts of Boundary-Layer Meteorology (BLM). The other is to review the recent applications of BLM to physical urban planning and civil engineering. The purpose of this lecture is twofold.
