Outline of lecture

This lecture aims to teach fundamentals of intelligent control techniques. The talks include adaptive control systems, fuzzy control, artificial neural nets, and other soft-computing techniques.

Purpose of lecture

This lecture is composed of two parts. Part I deals with adaptive identifiers and controllers. Part II illustrates some soft-computing techniques.

Plan of lecture

Part I: Adaptive control
- Overview of adaptive systems
- Fixed control and adaptive system
- Differentiate operators and shift operators
- Non-minimal realization
- Stochastic identifier
- Deterministic identifier
- Model reference adaptive control system
- Self- tuning regulator

Part II: Soft computing
- Fuzzy control
- Neural networks
- Self-organizing maps
- Genetic algorithm
