概要

講義概要

This course will enhance students’ awareness of cultural differences and how they affect inter-cultural relationships between individuals and within groups. In each class we will discuss a number of facets of culture and look at examples from a number of cultural groups. This will be followed up with stimulating in-class activities that will illustrate how different aspects of culture fit together. In addition to the above mentioned activities, this class will include reading, writing and listening exercises. Students will be expected to participate in discussions and activities; some of which will require doing some reading outside of class.

講義の目的

At the end of this course, Students’ will have gained a deeper understanding of culture; how it affects our behavior and the behavior of others. They will also learn various ways of bridging gapes in understanding.

成績評価

Attendance (30%); Participation in class discussion (40%); Final exam (30%). In order to earn credits, more than 80% of actual class hours attendance is required.
