This course teaches students how to gather news and report in various media -- print, Internet, radio, TV, documentary film -- and learn what it means to be a foreign correspondent in Japan.
This course provides students with the tools to gather information and quotes and to mediate between competing views. The course will put students in the shoes of a journalist: gather information, ponder questions of impartiality and accuracy, and write like a journalist.
The aim is to allow students to experience the work of a reporter, prompt them to rethink some of their ideas and communicate clearly about issues and opinions.
This course offers hands-on experience in all aspects of journalism.
