講義概要

This aubject will prepare students for effective communication when on a study abroad program by developing their skills in formal speech presentations. The final output will be participation in the Tokyo Institute of Technology Speech Contest in January.

講義の目的

This course will focus on listening and public speaking skills. Students will learn how to discuss a topic and to voice their opinion in a logical way. The course will deal with a variety of contemporary topics that will enhance their public speaking skills. By the end of the course students should feel confident speaking in front of their peers and others. At the end of the course, students will be required to participate in the speech contest held in January 2011 at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Students may also participate in the Cambridge University Press online Speech Contest.

Auditors are not permitted. Please take course for credit.

成績評価

Students will be evaluated according to their own progress over the course of fifteen weeks, not in comparison other students.
