講義概要
This course provides students with the practical opportunity (in English) to explore both verbal and non-verbal communication using theatre and drama techniques.
講義の目的
The course is designed to provide students with the tools to unlock their own unique approach to the creative process and use exploration in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Methods include structured and improvised situations which allow students to discover and successfully use spoken and unspoken language as tools of self-expression. The emphasis of the course is on active participation in an ensemble setting. This is achieved through interacting with one another using processes that help the group to explore a deepening understanding of themselves.
Components include:
- Warm ups
- Improvisation using body language and movement
- Action and reaction
- Personal communication, individual expression and voice
- Emotional work
- Group communication
- Sensory work
- Truthful emotional responses to imaginary circumstances
- Identifying & communicating subtext
- Using environment, character and objectives to explore
- Movement in the imagination and visual imaging
- Preparing and presenting scripted and improvisational scenes using imaginary space
- Short demonstrations and video clips where approriate
- Recapitulation and evaluation
