This “elective”course for intermediate students is intended to supplement and expand the required courses you attend weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.
A different version is taught by several other native-speaker instructors, so that class size may have to be adjusted up or down to balance sections.
This is a speech-based class designed to afford confidence in using basic English conversational or discussion techniques.

Students should be eager, willing to change bad language habits, curious about other cultures and about their classmates - perhaps even about their teacher! Again, they need to be cheerful risk takers, where language and non-specialist knowledge are concerned.
Students are assessed, above all, on participation and willingness to improve skills. They are encouraged to take risks - and to enjoy using a second language. Expectations within a native-speaking English language context are repeatedly emphasized. In other words, how can you make yourself understood and make a good impression among individuals who may not speak your own language, be it Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, or Thai - to name only a few of the languages spoken by students at Titech?
The object of this syllabus is to acquaint you with the nature of what goes on in this section of elective English for your ability-level.
I take for granted that all students will attend each class, OR if absent on account of actual illness, they will give written notice to the teacher.
